Joe Burruezo, known as "Captain Slobby Joe", has been fishing these waters for as long as he can remember. Despite his name, Captain Joe is anything but a slob, jumping to every challenge with an energy that can only ever come from true passion from the sport. He is a man determined to make a name for himself, and to build his reputation as one of the most dedicated and welcoming captains operating in this fishing paradise. Meeting and Pickup
Travels can request a pick up location accessible by boat, however due to weather or fishing conditions it can be denied, one of the designated areas would be a mandatory pick up.
What To Expect
You will need your own form of transportation to get to and from the dock for a fishing charter experience, depending on the duration you choose. We will explore Tampa Bay’s endless flats and backwaters to target a who’s who of inshore favorites. You will receive all rods, tackle, and reels to use for fishing.
There are a huge number of species available in Tampa. Targeting species like Black Drum, Sheepshead, Spanish Mackerel, Jack Cervalle, Snapper (mangrove), Cobia, Tarpon, Redfish, Spotted Seatrout, Snook, and many more.

As an active member of the Dolphin SMART program, we do not have physical contact with the dolphins on Private Fishing Charter in Tampa. We watch them in their natural habitat from the boat.
Dec 2022Yes. Whatever the fishing calls for: live bait, frozen bait, cut bait, or chum, our Charter Captains will have plentiful supplies on hand. The same thing goes for artificial bait such as lures, flies, or plugs.
Jul 2022If you have any doubts about becoming seasick on the water, we recommend taking a Dramamine® Motion Sickness Relief tablet the night before your trip. Some people recommend taking it the night before your cruise and then again that morning so you will not feel so drowsy.
